How can I make a deposit to my checking or savings account?
There are several convenient and easy ways to deposit money into your checking or savings account. Pick the option that works best for you!
Important to know:
Your account is an electronic demand deposit account that is accessible through the Upgrade app on your mobile device or via Upgrade.com. Upgrade cannot accept cash or checks for deposit by mail. Any checks mailed to us for deposit will be destroyed upon receipt.
Your deposit options:
Bank Transfer (ACH) - Link an external bank account to transfer funds electronically.
- Link your account instantly through your Dashboard.
Mobile Deposit - Deposit a check by taking a photo in your mobile app.
- Mobile deposit becomes available after your account is open and active. Eligibility may vary.
- This is the only way to deposit checks to your checking or savings account.
Direct Deposit - Set up your eligible direct deposit.
- Direct deposits will only be posted if your account is open and active.
Apple Pay or Google Pay (Mobile Only) - Deposit funds using Apple Pay or Google pay through your mobile app.
- Not available outside of the mobile app.
- $500 limit per transaction.
Internal Transfer - Move funds between your existing Upgrade accounts.
- Both accounts must be open and active.
Wire Transfer - Receive funds from an external bank via wire transfer.
- Must be initiated from the external bank.
- Upgrade does not impose any limits or fees for incoming wires, however, the sending bank may have associated fees and limits.
- Wires can only be deposited if your account is open and active.
External Debit Card (First Deposit ONLY) - Use your debit card from another bank to make your first deposit.

Have cash to deposit?
Since Upgrade accounts are electronic-only, try depositing your cash at another bank first, then transfer it electronically to your Upgrade account.
